Between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th November 2011, eight of our Junior Cadets attended a weekend away at HMS Raleigh where they could participate in Communications, Meteorology and Seamanship.
On of our staff members, Mr Ian Schofield-Beevers, has been awarded the HM Lord Lieutenant Commendation for Meritorius Service. As he was unable to attend the awards evening, Lady Mary Holborow came to the Unit HQ to present him with his award.
On Monday 10th October 2011, the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Lady Mary Holborrow attended the Unit as the VIP. She inspected the Guard before the Colours ceremony, and then inspected the Divisions speaking to the cadets individually. She then presented awards and qualifications recently gained by the cadets.
On Thursday 8th September the Captain of RNAS Culdrose (Captain Toby Williamson) visited the unit to carry out our monthly Divisions. After inspecting the Guard and the Divisions, he carried out presentations and awards. He was then given a tour of the unit and met the cadets during their classes. Captain Williamson left the unit very impressed and our ties with RNAS Culdrose grow ever stronger.
