Congratulations Shirley Unit for taking Runners Up Best Dressed Piping Team, Winners Best Dressed Colour Party and Runners Up Best Colour Party. You've all done yourselves, Shirley Sea Cadets and Warwickshire District very proud!! Now kick back and relax
On Sunday 17th February the Sea Cadets of Shirley and District took part in the district competition, representing us in the Colour Party, Ceremonial Drill, Team and Individual Piping.
The list below is the accolades won by the cadets.
1st for our Piping Team and Colour Party.
Best dressed Colour Party.
Runner up best dressed Piper.
Runner up individual Piper.
Joint runner up best dressed Piping Team.
They all now go on to represent Warwickshire in Plymouth on the 16th March.
A big thank you to all of the staff for their time in training the cadets and the parents who have supported us along the way.
Cadets, Staff and supporters from the Unit held their second Bag Packing fund raising event at the local Tesco store in Hall Green on Saturday 22nd December.
This was one of the most successful bag packing events for a few years with the total donations received amounting to £870.38.
Many thanks got to those who attended and also much appreciation to the customers of Tesco's who made donations.
As is the norm, Staff from the Unit acted as waiters to serve a full Christmas dinner to some 30 of our cadets last Friday.
Many thanks must go to all who helped on the day, to the Staff and the Cadets, with special thanks to Dot and Alan Patrick who shopped and organised the food preparation.
Cadets and supporters took part in a bag-pack fund raising event at the local Tesco store in Hall Green.
Congratulations go to those who attended and helped raise just under £300.00 and many thanks to all the shoppers at Tesco’s who kindly made donations
