Some of our Junior Cadets have been busy tonight making Christmas decorations for the Unit.

Well done to you all.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

 I had the pleasure of escorting a number of our cadets at this year's Birmingham International Military Tattoo 2015 this weekend, where they have performed as part of the Warwickshire District Sea Cadets marching platoon.

They have executed their performances in the marching platoon as part of the massed band impeccably.

The following personnel were involved:

LC B Mohan, AC J Joseph, OC E Mohan, OC J Deery, AC J-L Bourne, AC Z Cutchey, OC H Drury, Cdt C Baxter, CPO N Merchant and Sub Lt D Marshall.

On Saturday 14th November 2015 we held our annual presentation event at the unit headquarters.

20 Cadets received medals and trophies in recognition of their achievements during the last 12 months or less.

The awards were presented by the Mayor of Solihull Councillor Glenis Slater.

Also in attendance was the Mayors Consort Mr Clive Slater.

The final results are in! Shirley Unit has finished in 3rd Place, which I am extremely proud of.

It has been a very busy and challenging competition year and we have had huge amounts of success at District, Area and National Competitions.

Well done from me to all the cadets that have competed and the adults that have trained or supported the cadets through 2015.

Here it is! Our 2015 Burgee. This is the result of 12 months of hard work and determination by all the cadets, adult uniformed instructors and unit management committee members.

A massive well done to all of the ship's company from me!
