Each Tesco UK store holds a community donation budget to help local organisations with their fundraising events.

The funding they give goes towards providing practical benefits, such as equipment and resources for projects that directly benefit health, sustainability or opportunities for young people in the local communities.

We have been fortunate in receiving a cheque for £250 from the Tesco Extra store a 1505 Stratford Road Shirley and that the store are now our official sponsors.

Many thanks to them and their colleagues.

On 7th December we threw open the doors of the Unit to some 75 guests from our local community for a High Tea.

We were privileged to welcome our guest of honour Dr Tim Watts, High Sheriff of West Midlands.

This has given our cadets a great opportunity to test out their newly acquired stewarding skills.

Entertainment was provided by the Happy Valley River Boys.

Presentation Evening 22-11-14

On Saturday 22nd November we held our annual event at the unit.

The Commanding Officer made the following statement following the evening: ” I was extremely pleased and honoured this evening at our Cadet Presentation Evening 2014.

I gave out 20 awards to a number of individuals and teams for their efforts, achievements and endeavours through 2014.

The Cadets and Adults receiving awards were all very worthy winners and for those of you that didn't manage to take home an award, you should feel very proud of yourself, being part of such a worthy organisation.

Well done to all for a fantastic evening”
