Again Cadets and supporters were invited to the Barons match against Coventry at the Blue Ice centre in Hobbs Moat Solihull.

The visit was arranged by the local Community Police and also attending were Cadets from the AFC

A great time was had by all

In the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull (Cllr Ken Hawkins and Mrs Janet Hawkins ) and the District Officer (Lt Cmd [SCC] G Truelove [RNR]) cadets who excelled at various training and attendance were presented with awards of Trophies or Shields.

The awards were presented by the Mayor.

Following the Presentations the Mayor and Mayoress were invited to partake of some refreshments and food from the Buffet prepared by members of the committees and parents.

A disco followed.

Congratulations to those cadets who received awards and thanks to all those who helped make this a most enjoyable and memorable event.

Cadets and Staff took part in the annual Remembrance Parade in conjunction with The Shirley British Legion

The parade marched down Stratford Road from the Shirley Legion headquarters to St Peters Church for the service of remembrance and subsequently marched back up Stratford Road to the Legion.

Include in the Parade were a contingent from the Army Cadets and members from all other local youth organisations.

The Mess President and his Guest, requested the pleasure of Staff, Committee members of the Unit, The District Officer and others to attend a Celebration on board Training Ship Gamecock for the official dining out of the Commanding Officer Lt David Nicholls, with good company, fine food and merriment all in a Nautical Theme of a Mess Dinner.

A good night was had by all

Cadets and Supporters of the Unit held a car wash in the Unit compound.

The weather for the event was better thyan expected and the members of the public came and donated £235.
