Shirley Remembrance Parade 2015

"We will remember them"

An excellent turnout for Shirley Sea Cadets at the Shirley Remembrance Parade 2015, with the majority of our cadets and adults on parade.

Was very nice to see so many people turn out from within the community.

Well done everyone!

Trafalgar Dinner 29-10-15

On 29th October 2015 we joined the Freemasons at their lodge in Kings Heath for the Annual Trafalgar Dinner. We were delighted to have been invited to join their event and give a number of our cadets the opportunity to showcase their training in stewarding, a semaphore display and drill and ceremonial.

Thank you to all cadets and adults for their excellent turnout in the various evening activities, with a special mention to CPO Stef Wells for his Solo Bugle and LC Beth Rose for her Dinner Call and Solo Semaphore Display, passing the message "Enjoy Your Meal", which 4 of the guests correctly guessed.

Well done all!

District Trafalgar parade 25-10-15

SHOPPERS were treated to an amazing spectacle as hundreds of sea cadets took to the streets of Sutton Coldfield.

More than 200 Sea Cadets and staff marched through the town centre on Sunday October 25, to commemorate the 210th anniversary of Trafalgar Day.

The Parade formed at Wyndley Leisure Centre and marched to Trinity Hill, where it was accompanied by music from the Sutton Coldfield Sea Cadet Band.

Warwickshire Sea Cadets district officer, Lt Cdr Joe Utting, was very impressed by all who took part.

He said: "It went brilliantly, even the weather was well organised. "It was wonderful to see so many young people taking part, especially the junior cadets. Events like these teach them so much, from discipline and organisation to travelling and being involved in the community."

RBL Poppy Appeal Launch 23-10-15

On Saturday 24-10-15 we got to take part in the Poppy Day Appeal Launch at Park Gate, Shirley.

12 of our cadets both Sea Cadets and Junior Sea Cadets took part in a small parade with the Air Cadets and Army Cadets, followed by a flashmob dance for the pleasure of the public.

The cadets have been training for this for the past few weeks and did an excellent job.

Well done all!
