Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition

Three Sittingboure cadets joined with two Maidstone cadets to make a team.

The cadets completed their qualifying Bronze DoE expedition in Crowbrough.

They planned the expedition and followed the route on foot using a map and compass for navigation.

Well done to you all and good luck for the rest of the sections.

Salute to the 40's

Salute to the 40's District Event on board HMS Cavalier. A great weekend showing what West Kent District Cadets get up to in the Sea Cadet Corps.

Cadets and Juniors did well showing off a few of the skills they have learnt. (including ship to shore Semaphore, Piping and rope work)
The cadets got to have a tour of HMS Explorer.
They also had a few chances to have a look around and join in the event.
The Able cadet even managed to get to fire the gun on HMS Caviller.

Paddlesports evening

On Monday the 22nd August cadets enjoyed an evening watching the sunset from the lake whilst practicing Kayaking skills.

Cadets paddled forwards and backwards around a course, rubbed noses with the front of their kayak and even had a race boys vs girls using just two sit on tops!
