Our voluntary staff have been workring hard to get our cadets boating again as quickly as possible. Over the winter, while allowed, they have made ready the Wallasey boating station. We've moved our kayaks and canoes to the site and have recently enjoyed Saturday afternoon boating sessions with up to 8 cadets. We've attached a photo of our cadets enjoying themselves. There are more spaces available if more cadets wish to join us, watch out for Marc's notices for upcoming dates.
Project 'Light at the end of the tunnel' is up and running. We have been offered a 25yr lease on a great building in the Army Reserve centre in Aigburth, Liverpool. The success of this project will mean us moving out of our current Portacabin accommodation, they have served us well but are becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to maintain.
This move will come at a cost of approximately £200,000, it's a big total but we're confident we can achieve it. The unit committee is working to seek grant aid to help us achieve our target.

With many thanks to the 'Duchy of Lancaster', South Liverpool Sead Cadets are proud to announce that we have a second safety boat. The Whaly 435 is virtually unsinkable and will provide not only for a safer boating environment but enable us to teach 'power boating' to our cadets.
South Liverpool Sea Cadets has recently gained three new instructor qualifications to better serve our cadets

These qualifications will allow our staff to train and assess our cedets for a range of saling and kayaking qualifications.
One of our members of staff, PO (SCC) Patrick Devaney, has recently gained his RYA Intermediate Planing Windsurfing Instructor qualification - after spending a week at Colwyn Bay Watersports Centre in North Wales.
By gaining this qualification we are now able to instruct cadets up to their RYA Stage 4 Windsurfing certificate, which is the highest qualification available in the youth scheme. We are looking forward to getting on the water for our boating weekend at the end of this month when we will be able to put this qualification to use!
