District Football Competition- 13/12/2015

We are pleased to report that for the second year in a row our senior boys have won the district five a side football competition! Because of their hard work and time spent training they will now go on to represent the whole of our district at area level in January, where they will hopefully be able to do just as well.

Remembrance Day Parade- 08/11/2015

Today our cadets marched through the streets of Speke in order to remember those who have fallen in conflicts past and present. Our cadets were accompanied in the procession by both war veterans and members of the public, marching to music provided by our marching band. This parade is one of the most important that our unit takes part in, and is a fantastic opportunity for our cadets to experience being in the public eye and to be proud of the organisation that they are a part of. As always we are immensely proud of the display that our cadets put on, they were extremely smart and professional in everything they did and are truly a credit to their unit.

Annual France Trip- 23/10/2015

This October half term our cadets camped in Normandy, France, for a week of both fun activities and educational visits. For the first time our unit was joined on our trip by cadets from Southport unit, meaning that as well as bonding with people from their own unit our cadets also got to make lots of new friends! The activities that our cadets did included bowling, playing football on the beach, and spending a day learning about the D-Day landings by visiting the local cemeteries and memorial sites. In the end the week was a fantastic success, with the cadets returning home exhausted but happy, as well as having made lots of new friends.

Charity Coffee Morning- 18/10/2015

In order to raise money for the charity 'Ben's Cause', our cadets recently decided of their own accord to organise and run a coffee morning for the friends and family of our unit. This involved them giving up their own time to prepare the unit, create advertisements, and assist in the running of the event itself. The event was a huge success with many people from the Speke area and beyond coming to show their support, and in total we raised over £400 for a fantastic cause! We couldn't be any prouder of our cadets for having the drive and determination to turn their idea into a reality, and we would also like to thank all of the people that supported our event by baking cakes and donating prizes for our raffle.

Marine Cadet Promotions- 11/10/2015

We are hugely proud to say that three of our most senior royal marine cadets have recently completed their MC1 promotional board and have been promoted to their next rank. MC2 Bateman-Lee, MC2 Callum Jones, and MC2 Liam Mahon spent the weekend being pushed to their limits as every aspect of their cadet knowledge was tested. A special mention also goes to MC2 Jones and MC2 Mahon as they achieved a credit pass, meaning that they did exceptionally well on their board and will be promoted to the rank of cadet lance corporal (although we are also very proud of MC2 Bateman-Lee, who missed out on a credit pass by single mark!).
