With Tewkesbury Sea Cadets winning almost every single trophy at the 2014 District Sailing Regatta, the pressure was on for the team to perform again this year. On a blustery morning late May, the team arrived at Whitefriars Sailing Club. After unloading boats and getting kitted up, the day began with a race brief and a team talk by the unit’s team managers, CI Stuart Bailey and CI Debbie Bailey. It was clear after the first few races that the Tewkesbury Sailors were once again leagues above the rest, and by the end of the day the team had managed to scoop a win in all categories that they had entered, and taking home once again the overall regatta shield!
A huge well done to all members of the team who entered, and to the staff who put the hard work in behind the scenes to make the day such a success with team managing and safety boat driving. Whilst none of the winners are able to go forward to the area competition once again due to holidays, fingers crossed for a strong area team on 2016.
