TS Royalist Fundraising - Tall Ships Festival...

On Saturday 25th May staff and cadets from TS Otter headed to Gloucetser Docks to assist with the fundraising weekend to help raise funds to replace TS Royalist who is now over 40 and coming to the end of her working life.

A voyage on the Sea Cadets current sail training ship, TS Royalist is the pinnacle of the Sea Cadet experience, offering an amazing opportunity to hoist sails and navigate Britain’s coastal waters as part of a crew, working together out there at sea in the elements. It’s challenging and inspiring, helping to build skills for life. A voyage is available to all 14,000 UK Sea Cadets and every year 1500 cadets go to sea, that’s 30,000 since her launch in 1971.  You can donate towards the new ship by texting ‘Ahoy 08 £3’ to 70070 to donate £3.

As always our cadets did us proud and worked solidly from 7.30am through to 5.00pm, selling keyrings and kayaking experiences through to constantly walking within the crouds with fundraising buckets, giving out marketing materials and stickers.  It was a very hot day and they were all in full dress No 1 uniform.  Full details of how much was raised to follow.

Well done everybodyCool

Cadets compare the shine on their boots with a very TALL sailor!!
