Fareham Council helps Local Cadets buy boat

Fareham Council helps Local Cadets buy boat

SEA Cadets have been given the cash to buy a new boat.

Warsash Sea Cadets have received £3,222 from Fareham Borough Council’s community fund.

The branch is one of the newest units in the country, based at the Warsash Maritime College.

Since its creation, it has regularly been involved in local events and has established itself quickly within the community.

Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of the council, said: ‘The cadets are mainly focused on water based activities and have two ageing Trinity boats to participate in competitions with.

‘However, these boats were purchased second hand and they are now in need of replacement.

‘We are pleased that we can help to purchase one of the two boats needed so that the cadets can continue to participate in activities and competitions.’

Warsash Sea Cadets will carry out various fundraising events to raise the money to fund the purchase of the second boat.
