Sea Cadets from across the UK descended on the Excel Centre in London’s Docklands on Saturday 4 September for the 2010 Sea Cadet National Combined Regatta. Cadets travelled from across the UK to take part, some having travelled 14 hours by coach.
The competition was, as always, fierce with South West Area cadets taking the overall title once more. The day also saw the new Trinity500 boats competed in at national level for the first time (pictured).
Captain Mark Windsor RN, Captain Sea Cadets, who was on hand to present trophies to the winners, says: “once again our dedicated volunteers have excelled themselves in putting on another wonderful national combined regatta. The support of the Excel Centre under the leadership of James Rees was as ever excellent and much appreciated. The competition between Areas was as fierce as ever and our cadets clearly thoroughly enjoyed the event.”
