The six brand new Navy Board Cadets for 2015, POC Keiran from Northants & Leics district, LC Nikolas from London Eastern district, POC Daniel from Northern Ireland district, LC Shannon from Merseyside East district, POC Charlie from East Kent district and POC Ashley from Warwickshire district, are taking part in the Mountbatten Festival of Music today!

The festival features the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, performing over three nights and featuring a range of musical styles.

Last weekend, three Sea Cadets competed with 24 others to be one of nine going to the final for the CVQO Duke of Westminster Award at a challenging four day selection event in Somerset.

The nine finalists will win a place on an educational two week expedition to South Africa in July and one will be crowned the overall CVQO Duke of Westminster Award winner for 2015 at the House of Lords ceremony in June.

The cadets, Katy from Northern Ireland district, Jacob from Merseyside East district and Matthew, Warwickshire district, were all nominated by their units in recognition of their desire to help those around them, overcome personal challenges or demonstrate community spirit.

On Thursday 9 April, 13 Sea Cadets from Burton on Trent Unit took part in the laying of three memorials for the Cadet Forces’ at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. They were joined by Combined Cadet Force, Air and Army Cadets.

They had already laid the memorials in 2012 but they moved them to make way for a new visitor centre. The service was delivered by the Air Cadets Corps Chaplain to rededicate the memorial in their new positions.

Are you a budding photographer? Do you enjoy taking photos of your Sea Cadet activities? Enter the prestigious Royal Navy Peregrine Trophy photography competition. There is a special category for Sea Cadets! Show your skill and creativity as you compete for the chance to show your winning image with some of the Navy's most amazing photography.

Your photos have to be taken when you're taking part at a Sea Cadet or Royal Marines Cadet activity from March 2014 to April 2015, for example a photo of TS Royalist, competing to win the Gib Cup, competing at one of our competitions! The list is endless. You also have to be a serving Sea Cadet or RMC, aged 13 - 18.

Aberdeen Sea Cadets are having their dreams come true by joining their football idols on the pitch at the Petrofac Training Cup Final on Sunday 5 April 2015. They will walk alongside footballers as they come on to the pitch at St Johnstone’s McDiarmid Park stadium, bearing the flag before the match starts.

Five Sea Cadets aged 11-18 from Aberdeen are joined by children from Petrofac Training Services’ employees and competition winners to walk on to St Johnstone’s McDiarmid Park pitch in Perth alongside footballers from the two finalist teams in the Scottish Championship, Alloa and Livingston.

Commanding Officer at Aberdeen Sea Cadet Unit, PO (SCC) Peter Ritchie, says: “We are thrilled to have this opportunity, thanks to Petrofac Training Services. Sea Cadets will never forget the moment they walk on the pitch for a cup final, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for them."
