Today is Sea Cadets 159th birthday and units up and down the country are celebrating.
Sandwell Unit will be rowing the circumference of the borough to raise money for cadets to gain vital qualifications, whilst Clydebank Unit will be having a bbq at the unit and encouraging parents to get out on the water! Torbay Unit is having a week-long celebration which includes having a football match with the Army Cadets, and Grimsby & Cleethorpes is making an online memory book for past and present cadets and volunteers to share their experiences.
Since 1856, Sea Cadets have provided hundreds of thousands of young people the chance to experience the exhilaration of an offshore voyage, gain qualifications to boost their careers, learn a musical instrument and the opportunity to row, sail, canoe and kayak every weekend! Make a donation to Sea Cadets to ensure that we can carry on supporting young people, here!
