Almost two million children aged between eight and 16 have been contacted by strangers on the internet in the last year often without ever telling their parents, a report by the BBC and UK Safer Internet Centre reveals.
The safety and welfare of our young people is of paramount importance to the charity, which is why it is important to raise awareness of issues around internet use.
Sea Cadets Safeguarding Manager, Gary Trundell says 'In order to help keep children and young people safe online, its important that our volunteers are aware of the potential risks and how young people use the internet.'
