New Mayor, New Mayors Cadet

Congratulations!
To our new Mayors Cadet and a huge Bravo Zulu to our out going Mayors cadet who did an amazing job in the past year.

I am extremely confident that our new Mayors Cadet will be just as successful as the last and be a cadet that we all trust to represent our unit at important events.

Boat Station Clean Up

Big thanks to a Junior Cadet and his father for turning up to help me tidy up the boat park at the reservoir. We managed to move all boats out and mow around them as well as reorganise so that everything fits in.

I hope more cadets and staff can be available next Saturday as it is the Banbury Sailing Club open day which is an amazing opportunity for people to see our cadets as well as possibly join us and the club on the water.

The first time in many years that we have had proper storage for our boating equipment at our boating station. Just waiting now for a couple of new boat covers and our Site Specific training.

Junior Cadets Visit Local Fire Station

Tonight the Juniors went to the Fire Station in Banbury for a look around and to find out what is involved with Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
They got to see all the equipment carried on a fire appliance, try out BA kit, Thermal Imaging, running out hoses (and winding them back up) and a look around the training house including how to perform a search, and all interspersed with many questions.
With grateful thanks to our guide on the night Chris Kelly and all the staff of Banbury Station.
