Junior section of Aberystwyth Sea Cadets are beginning on the road of finding what being a cadet and a valued member of a team is all about.
Under the leadership of Petty Officer Gareth Edwards, a group of senior cadets are now in the process of studying for their BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services. This is the first time that this course has been run in Aberystwyth Sea Cadets and it is anticipated that in the future, all eligable cadets will have the opportunity to take this course.
The BTEC Level 2 is equivalent to 4 GCSE's at A*-C grade.

Dear Kelvin,
On behalf of the members of our Branch and all who took part in the Remembrance Day parade yesterday I wish to thank you for the tremendous support the unit gave us once again.
The turnout of the Cadets and Instructors was always exemplary and their good manners, especially when dealing with members of the public, was an example to us all.
The Guard of Honour parade at the launch of the Poppy Appeal was excellent, the help you all gave to the Poppy Appeal the support at the Festival of Remembrance and finally the Guard of Honour at the War memorial yesterday was more than we in the “Legion” could have hoped for and is appreciated by every one of us.
As we members get older it warms our hearts to see the young people, of units such as yours, carrying on the tradition of service to others less fortunate than themselves. Does it not amaze you that the good youngsters, who outnumber the bad, never seem to be given their due recognition?
We send every good wish for the future to all members of the unit and thank you all once again.
Yours aye
John Andrews
Festival and Parade Organiser and Secretary.
An excellent turn out from Staff and cadets for the Annual Remembrance Parade. Photographs have and will be added to the Parade Section pages 4,5 and 6 in the photograph gallery.
Fred and Monica who were our hosts during the Four Days Marches in Nijmegen Holland for the past 25 years paid a surprise visit to the unit whilst traveling in their camper in the UK
