Mayor Thanks Cadets

Mayor Thanks Cadets

Members of TS Diomede, Barnsley Sea Cadets joined their counterparts from Air and Army Cadets tonight for the Mayors Function in the Town Hall.

The purpose was to say Thank You to cadets for their efforts around the town over the last year.

After a hearty meal of Lasagne or Pasta, followed by Chocolate Mouse or Strawberry Trifle, cadets took part in a quizz to test their knowledge. The Quiz was won by a team from Sea Cadets.

Certificates were also given out to organisations and cadets for their efforts during the 2014 Poppy Appeal.

Sunday 22nd March

Well done to this weeks Cadet of the Week – Henry Clark from Barnsley Sea Cadets.
In October last year, Henry heard cries for help following a car crash. He was on his paper round with his sister and rushed to help. Henry and an adult member of the public lifted the elderly driver (who had had a heart attack) out of the car and gave CPR until paramedics arrived.

His quick thinking helped to save that mans life.

Congratulations Henry - you are our Cadet of the Week!
