On Sunday 14th November, Basingstoke and Deane Sea Cadets joined other community groups from across the town to commemorate Remembrance Sunday. Despite the cold weather, our cadets conducted themselves admirably - a credit to our unit!

We had a good turn out for our second Saturday training session of the season. Training included rowing and powerboating. The rowing crew made good progress across Burghfield lake and their technique improved throughout the day. The powerboaters were practicing for the up coming district regatta and had a good session running through the various excercises.
Throughout the season we have scheduled a minimum of 14 days worth of training covering rowing, powerboating and sailing. These were set at the beginning of the year around our rather busy calendar. All cadets + juniors are welcome. Put your name down so that you can join in.
Our first parade night back will be Monday 8th January.
We hope you have had a good break and we look forward to seeing you all and getting on with 2018. We have a busy period of training, courses and don't forget an RNP coming up.
Lots to be excited about.
Our Annual Presentations for 2017 was attended by the Mayor of Basingstoke Cllr Paul Frankum and district officer for Berkshire Lt Cdr (SCC) Alan Fleming. Along with a full turn-out of the ships company, we welcomed a large contingent of parents. The presentations consisted of awards for activities throughout the year along with badges covering specialisations, good conduit and several upratings. We also welcomed a new entry into the ships company by enrolement to cadet.
A massive BZ to all the cadets for your achievements in 2017 and we look forward to a great 2018.
