National Trafalgar Day Parade

National Trafalgar Day Parade

PPO Kat Jay attended the National Trafalgar Day Parade in London last weekend in her role as South West Area's Navy Board Cadet. She was given the privilege of carrying the casement ensign. When Admiral Lord Nelson was buried at St Paul's Cathedral, his coffin was draped by a white ensign. The Sailors present, removed the ensign and tore it into segments to share amongst them as a memento of the occasion. One of these segments is now encased and carried during the Parade to be placed at the foot of Nelson's column. She was escorted in this duty by Navy Board Cadets from other areas.
