Tonight, the Junior Cadets had a wonderful night visiting 4 chip shops to carry out a ‘Chippy Survey’
They have given each chip shop a score using charts. The results are to be verified.
Thank you to all the shops involved, especially Wetmore Road Fish Bar who gave us the portion for free!!!! (Not to influence the score!!!)

The cadets have taken part in a number of training serials including Fieldcraft, Tactics, Weapons Training, Blank Firing, Map Reading, Drill, and many others.
All cadets passed their respective Cadres and are ready to move onto the next step at Easter Camp (details via Detachment Commander).

(Please Note: Cadets are taught weapon handling skills as part of a structured programme of supervised training that emphasises safe and responsible use)
BZ (Navy speak for Well Done) to Leading Cadet Robertson who has been taking part in the National School Sailing Association (NSSA) Youth Regatta 2019, representing Derbyshire schools.
This follows on from her successes in March at the NSSA regatta in the Double Handed Team Racing category.
LC Robertson won the The Derbyshire Bell for being Derbyshire’s highest placing boat, and also came 3rd in the Mount Haes race with another Sea Cadet from Derby.
You can find photos and videos of the event on the NSSA Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NSSAsailing
Huge well done (& BZ) from all at the unit!
Well done to Cadet French for volunteering to take charge of tonight's Practical Leadership Task (PLT) of building a raft.
With a team of 10, comprising a mix of junior and sea cadets, a raft was assembled and launched within the timeframe of 45 mins.
Good leadership skills and teamwork from tonight's exercise.
