9th & 10th July 2011
Saturday - Boat Handling & Sailing
This year's competition was held at the Crosby Lakeside Activity Center (CLAC) which is the new Area boat Station. CLAC replaced Hollingworth lake (T.S. Palatine) as the Areas boating station earlier this year and this was the first opportunity that staff and cadets had a chance to see the excellent facilities that they have to offer. Cadets and Staff from around the area were joined by the Captain of the Sea Cadets, Captain Mark Windsor RN for this annual event. Ordinary Cadet Staples-Jones was entered in the Area PY class sailing Competition and I am plased to say he won 3 out of his four races and came second in one. This meant that he won PY class overall and will now be heading to the National Competition held at Southport in October BRAVO ZULU
Sunday - Rowing & Kayaking
This event was held in the docks next to the Royal Navy Headquarters in Mersayside. Staff from Bury unit were there to support the cadets from the district who had made it to the Area Competition. The competition used the new cadet boats, the Trinity(Fixed seat Rowing) and the Yole (Sliding seat rowing). All the teams did well.
