Sunday 11th February 2018 saw TS Gloucester take part in the Severn District Ceremonial Drill at St Peter's School. The competition has 4 stages - The march on, the inspection, the free drill display and the march off. The free drill display section is written by the Unit whereas the other sections have pre-written orders.
The team did a superb job and came 1st and is now of too Area which is held at HMS Raleigh in Torpoint.
POC Robert also won the best Guard Commander.
Congratulations to the Executive Officer who last week attended his Chief Petty Officer's advancement board. This is a weeks-long course down at HMS Excellent where they have learnt leadership skills and tested on many different areas such as drill and power of command.
Needless to say, he passed and is now a Chief Petty Officer (SCC).
TS Gloucester’s Royal Marine Cadet Detachment who has been nominated to represent Alpha Company (South-West Area) at the annual Gibraltar Cup Award.
The Gibraltar Cup was presented by the Commandant General Royal Marines and named from the Battle Honour of the Corps. It is awarded annually to the Royal Marines Cadet Detachment which is considered to have attained the highest standard of all round merit in the previous year. The best Detachment in each Area competes and the results is judged on a field competition annually.
This is a massive achievement for the Unit!!! The RMCD should be incredibly proud of this achievement and now the work begins to bring back the Gibraltar Cup to TS Gloucester!!!
Cadet First Class (CFC) Jack turns 18 next week and tonight who had his last night at TS Gloucester tonight. Jack turns 18 next week and is joining the Royal Navy in early next year 2018.
We wish him all the best for the future in the Royal Navy and hope he has an incredibly successful career.
