Following the purchase of a new boat for the unit, we simplyu had to get the cadets and staff on the water in the yole! The cadets made a much better team than the staff did with LC Sample and AC Hindley managing verywell, S/Lt Healy and UA Grey, not quite so well!!!!!!

Sponsored Walk

Sponsored Walk

In order to raise funds for the units newly established Offshore Fund- set up to help cadets meet the cost of an offshore course, some of the cadets and staff from the unit took part in a sponsored walk from Fort Blockhouse in Gosport, to the Round Tower in Portsmouth, where on the 30th anniverasary of the invasion of the Falkland Islands by Argentina, a wreath was layed in memork of all the sailors who fell in that conflict.

We were set off on our walk by CDR Giles, the deputy offshore commander, who has had a good relationship with the unit since he was the tempory area officer and visited us last year. PO Phillips, the national bookings co-ordinater from the Sea Cadet courses office (National Booking Centre!-CO) joined the unit on its treck.

Well done to those who took part and a big thanks to the ladies in the NBC for the juice and biscuits before we set off!!
