During the half term four cadets took their stage one and two RYA sailing course and one Able cadet took his assistant dingy sailing instructors course.

All five cadets were successful and are now all looking forward to the up and coming competitions throughout the year.

Throughout the year three cadets and one member of staff were selected by their peers and nominated for the Jack Petchey Foundation Awards. The awards were presented at the London Area sea cadet JP award ceremony held in London and recognises both youth and adults.

Harrow Sea cadets would like to say THANK YOU TO THE JACK PETCHEY FOUNDATION, you are a fantastic supporter of both youth and adults.

Coastal Powerboating March 2014

Three cadets and a member of staff all took to the River Thames to take part in a Coastal powerboat course. All four successfully qualified and can now take out the Rib's on coastal waters.

The unit ran a sponsored swim to help raise funds for the year. As a registered charity we have to organise ways of raising funds to help with the running costs. The cadets all took part and managed to raise several hundred pounds, a great effort by everyone involved.

Fourteen cadets were accompanied by four members of staff when they went to the New Forest for the weekend, to take part in their Duke of Edinburgh's award Expedition section.

Nine of the cadet's completed their bronze expedition, three completed their silver practice and the remaining having completed their bronze practice. The weather was very kind and the sunshine lasted for the entire weekend.
