HMS Ramsey visited Inverness this week, and our Unit and Moray Unit were invited to visit.
The ships company were brilliant showing us all over the ship and answering all our questions, well most of them anyway! We were allowed to stay almost double the time we were invited for, it was great.

Tattoo Donation

Colonel Roddy Wood, Chairman, and Captain John Harrison, Announcer, visited the Unit to present a cheque from the Inverness Tattoo Committee. Col Wood spoke of how well this year had been received, and the monies raised (which is all shared between the local SCC, ACF and ATC) was on a par with previous years despite increasing costs.
August 8th - 13th 2011 will be the 60th Inverness Tattoo, and we must all put in that bit extra to make this a grand affair.
The Tattoo is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and covers almost half of our running costs.
Area Swimming Gala 2010

Great result for Highland District at the swimming gala, 24 medals from 18 events, 2 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze.
Massive well done to all that took part.
From Inverness 4 swimmers were in the water a total of 13 times, and all went home with medals - 6 silver individual medals, plus a bronze and a silver from the team races.
Special visit to Inverness for TS JACK PETCHEY

TS JACK PETCHEY, the new Sea Cadet power vessel made its first visit to Scotland on 12 August welcomed by Inverness Sea Cadets and the Provost of Inverness as it berthed in the Muirtown Basin. 80 well-wishers and friends celebrated the arrival with a fund-raising barbecue!
The £2.6million power vessel is the sixth vessel in the Sea Cadet fleet and was named in honour of Jack Petchey OBE, whose foundation provided the lions share of the funding.
Tim Honnor, Unit Chairman, said "Inverness is proud of their Sea Cadets and the high standards they show to their City and we were thrilled to welcome the TS JACK Petchey, she is a great asset."
Inverness Tattoo

The 59th Inverness Tattoo was as spectacular as usual. The week opened with a Tornado flypast. The Imps from London were back with their motorbikes, lots of Pipes & Drums, Dancing and other diplays. Our involvement was in the Guard of Honour saluting the various VIPs to start the show each night, the obstacle course competition against the Army Cadets and the Air Cadets, the Drill Display Team, and the Final Parade.
On Saturday night, the Juniors and Moray Sea Cadets joined us for the march through town, and the evening concluded with a fireworks display.
