Great fun was had when the unit ran a Firstaid training weekend at the end of July. Cadets were taught the 2nd Class (ST. Johns YFA) syllabus and had fun bandaging amongst other things. First Aid training is important so, although fun was had, the seriousness was not lost on the cadets when, in their assessment, they were greeted by a bleeding gash to the arm. Local Radio Celebs Visit
Sam and Amy from local radio station GEM 106, stopped off at the unit briefly while on their 'staycation'. Waiting to greet them were A/C Granger, A/C Coleman, A/C Harrison, O/C Martin, Cdt. Jones and Cdt. Hardy, along with Chief & Lt. Ade and Mrs. Martin. A roll of toilet paper, apparently a much needed commodity, was supplied to the DJs who, along with sidekick 'Dangerous Dave' and producer Paul, are spending their holiday on the waterways in 4 inflatables with small outboards.
