UNIT CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING - MESSAGE FROM THE CAPTAIN
Following the most recent Covid-19 guidelines from Government, announced this evening, it has been made clear all non-essential travel and social contact should be minimised where possible. This stringent escalation in measures against the virus is timed to provide maximum impact on delaying the growth of cases where possible.
In response we have concluded that all Sea Cadets unit activities and the commencement of any new Sea Cadets district, area, national and international training is to be suspended from tomorrow, Tuesday 17 March. All current active residential courses and offshore voyages are to be managed to closure over the next few days. Further details will follow tomorrow regarding future planned activity. We will also be communicating with all parents.
Though a very difficult decision to have reached, we do feel that it is in the best interests of our volunteers and cadets and indeed the nation. The charity itself and the support for you will not be winding down, in fact we have already begun work on plans to provide as much of the Sea Cadet Experience as we can to you and cadets online as possible – more on this to be communicated over the coming days.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact ask_the_ceo@ms-sc.org for answers.
Thank you,
Captain Phil Russell RN
