It's been a long wait, but cadets are back on the water, in a limited way. We are only able to run sailing at the moment as our kayak and rowing instructors are still waiting for an opportunity to renew their first aid qualifications. So it's just groups of six cadets at a time on the water at the moment. All sessions are being run in a covid secure manner.
We are going to start running some land based activities as well whilst cadets are sailing. We are also planning to take on a group of new cadets in the next few weeks.
A cold April day, but a good time for starting to learn how to sail, all in a covid secure manner.
The first Unit activity of 2020 was the annual football competition between other Notts & Derby District Units, Mansfield teams all played very enthusiastically and scored plenty of goals.
Mansfield Royal Marines Cadets excelled themselves at the CATSEA Company Assessment weekend in October 2019. Graded as "very good" our Mansfield cadets finished 2nd overall out of the 30 detachments attending. A superb performance, well done and keep it up!
