HMS Trafalgar was recently de-commissioned from the submarine fleet and the ceremony was attended by Cadets and Staff from TS. Trafalgar.
Following an invitation from the Commanding Officer of HMS Trafalgar the party from Merton Unit were accomodated for the night before turning out immpeccably for the de-commissioning parade. This was indeed a rare honour to be included in the proccedings and our Cadets drew words of praise from the assembled dignitaries.
The affiliation between the ship and TS. Trafalgar began in 1982 when she was commissioned into the Fleet and Cadets and Staff were able to sail in her on her journey from the shipyard to take her place in the Royal Navy.
It was fitting that the event was also attended by Lady Fieldhouse, widow of the late Lord Fieldhouse who launched the submarine back in those days.
