National Success

30 April 2024

Princess Royal presents

In April this year a Southern Area Team made up of cadets from Wessex District took the National Drill and Piping competition by storm

Led by our very own AC Jameson the team, after 3 weeks of training first went on to win the Area title and then within a further 6 weeks took the honours at national level.

The team were supported by passionate volunteers from across Wessex District and transported to and from the event at HMS Raleigh in the unit minibus where the National competition was held.

After frantic early preparations the SA/Wessex team were amoungst the first to complete their display which led to the wait for all other areas in their respective disciplines to move through the West drill shed.

After forming up in the respective areas the announcements were made. Armed Guard Routine - Southern Area, Armed Guard Best Arena Display - Southern Area, Armed Guard Commander - Southern Area.

We had a total of 3 team members in the squad which also included cadets from Poole, Bournemouth and Warsash who had come together over 9 weeks supported in many ways by their own unit staff and made it all happen.

Southern Area Success

24 March 2024

Parkstone Cadets, part of a combined Wessex District Team, win Southern Area Competition.

Unit cadets formed part of a combined armed guard and, along side the other Wessex teams, swept the board at the 2024 Area competion at HMS Excellent in early March.

The team now move forward to the National Competition being held at HMS Raleigh at the end of April where they will go head to head with teams from all other Areas across the UK.

With intensive training and preparations between the two dates the team should be in great shape to represent Southern Area along with Colour Party, Pipers, Un-armed Guard and Continuity all from Wessex District.

District Drill Competition

District Drill Competition

This weekend saw the unit dust of the kit and got involved in the 2020 district drill competition held at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth.

The team and staff put in a significant ammount of work in a short spell of time and with the help of a Cdt 1st Class from TS Phoebe we entered a Colour Party.

With 11 units in the district it was satisfying to achieve 4th with such a young team who should be able to go onto greater things in the future.

Well done to all who took part from training to logistics, uniform prep to polishing boots your efforts are notes by the unit. Thank you

Busy weekend

Busy weekend

Another busy weekend at Parkstone Sea Cadets with our drill team in training and preparation for the district competition to the UMT and mainly juniors fund raising to help sustained the opportunities we provide to the young people in the community.

With 95% of the unit team on some form of activity this weekend we certainly know how to engage with our cadets, staff, UMT and community.
