Burgee Award

Port Talbot Sea Cadets is celebrating achieving a Burgee Award for 2019-2020.

The Burgee award is the highest award that can be awarded annually to a Sea Cadet Unit in recognition of the hard work of the Cadets, Volunteers and Unit Management Team.

This is a momentous achievement for Port Talbot Sea Cadets in what has been a very challenging year - it is testament to the hard work of all involved at TS Resource.

Hair for Wigs

One of our Unit Assistants, Mrs Ring had promised to cut her long hair to make a wig for chemotherapy patients. She decided to use the opportunity to raise funds and share the money raised between the Sue Ryder Hospice which cared for a friend last year and our Sea Cadet Unit.

CI Evans' Challenge for a Quest

   St James's place

CI Mark Evans, one of our Sailing Instructors spent last summer in training. He completed two half marathons to raise funds for an RS Quest.

He was lucky to gain extra sponsorship from Stephen Booth of St James's Trust, pictured here at the Annual Presentation Evening giving the Cadets with a cheque for £2000.

We are glad to announce that the RS quest has now been delivered and will be named in honour of Marks' late father Norman Evans, affectionately known as "Farmer"
