Preston Royal Marine Cadets attend Gibraltar...

Royal Marine Cadets from Preston Sea Cadets attended Altcar training camp on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December 2015 to be assessed take part in a selection weekend to represent Bravo company for the Gibraltar Cup competition which will take place at Commando Training centre Lympstone in March 2016.

The detachment entered the selection weekend in 2014 and came fourth in the company. A lot of hard work by the Royal Marine cadets and staff meant that all were much better prepared and equipped for this years selection weekend and resulted in the detachment coming second in the company.

Sgt Dowd, Detachment commander stated "This was a great effort by all those that took part and those that helped us in a support capacity. I hope that we are again asked to compete in the selection weekend next year and that the detachment continues to build on its success resulting in us being selected to represent Bravo Company at Commndo Training centre Lympstone"

Able Cadet Alycia Cadman in the news!

Very well done to Able Cadet Cadman from TS Galloway (bottom right) who was interviewed by fleet magazine about her time in the corps and her involvement in Trafalgar Parade this year.

AC Cadman is heavily involved in Sea Cadet activities.

This year alone she has spent two weeks in America with Sea Cadets as well as being in the North West Area guard at Trafalgar Parade in London.

On Remembrance Sunday she was selected by the Commanding Officer S/Lt (SCC) Wayne Warner RNR to carry the unit standard. She is a fine example of a Sea Cadet

BZ AC Cadman!

Rememberance Day Parade 2015

TS Galloway took part in two remembrance parades on Sunday 8th November 2015, The first took place in Preston City Centre, marching alongside other cadet forces as well as representatives from the Armed Forces. Although the day started off wet we managed to miss the rain and arrived back at the unit in a reasonable dry manner.

We also took part in a parade in Lostock Hall, marching from the Royal British Legion to the cenotaph in the centre. A small service was conducted before a two minute silence and the laying of reefs.

TS Galloway celebrate Trafalgar Day 18th...

The ships company of TS Galloway attended St Mary Magdalene's church in Ribbleton Preston to celebrate Trafalgar day parade on Sunday 18th October 2015.

I think you will agree that all our cadets look extremely smart.

** Fund Raising Appeal **

Preston Sea Cadets is looking to purchase a new Trinity 500 rowing boat. We have been previously lucky enough to purchase a Trinity 500. However as our cadet numbers continue to grow we need to increase our boat fleet, however at a cost of £3000 each we will need to fundraise hard!

Grant requests have been completed from various sources but we will need to fundraise the majority ourselves.

Any ideas or suggestions for funraising would be welcomes, please feel free to email the Commanding Officer wayne.warner10@gmail.com or if you are able, please consider visiting our fundraising page.
