On the last weekend of April 2017, the unit's Armed Guard travelled to HMS Raleigh near Plymouth to represent the Unit, District & Area at the National Drill & Piping Competition.
The Guard led by Guard Commander, Able Cadet G. Mitchell did amazingly beating off stiff competition to place 2nd.
