ABOARD T S JACK PETCHEY

ABOARD T S JACK PETCHEY

We currently have two cadets aboard TS Jack Petchey. Ordinary Cadet Smelt and Cadet First Class Woods boarded Jack Petchey at Poole on Saturday 27th September 2014 and set sail the day after to Weymouth stopping off at Lulworth Cove along the way. The morning of the 29th Jack Petchey sailed across the English Channel to the Island of Alderney which is one of the Channel Islands to a little harbour called Braye, where unlike the previous two ports Jack Petchey is moored in the centre of the harbour. The morning after they sailed back across the channel where they spent the night in the bay at Swanage where I believe one of our Cadets was on watch from 12 midnight to 2 am. The next day 1st October TS Jack Petchey travelled up The solent and into Portsmouth beside TS John Jerwood. On the morning of the 2nd both boats sailed around Portsmouth Harbour past HMS Victory and the HM Naval Base, past HMS Daring and then moored in Gosport to finish there week off. What a brilliant experience! We look forward to hearing about their week on their return.
