Sandwell Sea Cadets has recently risen to the sky with the installation of a new mast at their unit headquarters at Ormiston Forge Academy.
The mast which was donated to the unit from the Nautical Club in Birmingham when it closed back in 2015 and has been in storage since, has now risen again and stands proud in front of the unit building.
An official unvailing ceremony as held on 27th June attended by the Deputy Lord Liuetenant Dave Heeley or Blind Dave as he likes to be known along with oter dignataries. The official ribbon cutting was performed by Mercia Districts very own Deputy District Officer and former Commanding Officer of TS Albion Lt Dave Burley.
The mast has undergone some extensive refurbishment and is now an integral part of the units operation.
