Cadets do a high tea 26-01-14

Cadets do a high tea 26-01-14

Last Sunday retired people from across Solihull enjoyed a relaxing afternoon tea courtesy of Shirley Sea Cadets.

The event brought together more than sixty people from five local organisations who were treated to tea, cakes and sandwiches, all served up by the cadets of TS Gamecock at their base in Haslucks Green Road.

Groups represented included: Age UK Solihull, Elizabeth Grove Residents Club, Shirley Community Centre, the Visually Impaired People’s Group and Solihull Moving On Club.

Also in attendance were the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Joe Tildesley and Mayoress Joan Tildesley, who were ‘piped aboard’ on arrival by 15 year-old cadet Bethany Rose.

Kayak practice from 25-01-14

Kayak practice from 25-01-14

Some of our cadets and staff have joined the Solihull canoe club to increase their practice and qualifications in a kayak.

During the winter months they meet on a Saturday morning which we attend.

If any of the cadets would like to join the club, and us on a Saturday let me know as we could meet at the unit.

This also includes juniors and parents.
