AFLOAT TRAINING

Last weekend in January and good weather continuing we were out in force for a variety of afloat training with two involved in a BCU Level coach course on Regents canal while others visited Royal Victoria Dock Boating Station to try out the new Quest dinghy and others using Trinity 500, Cheverton Champ and Viking.

LONDON BOAT SHOW 2016

January continued with a trip to the London Boat Show held at the Excel Centre alongside Royal Victoria Dock.

Complimentary tickets from National Boat Shows Ltd were much appreciated ensuring free places for all at this excellent event.

BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork and Personal Skills...

Southwark cadets were amongst the first in the Corps to qualify for the BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork and Personal Skills for Cadets thanks to funding from the Leathersellers Company.

Congratulations to A Button, A East, H Tutt, C Peek and O Reyes on successful completion of the qualification which is to be rolled out across the Sea Cadet Corps during 2016.

LONDON SOUTHERN DISTRICT 5 A SIDE FOOTBALL

It was an early start to 2016 with the District 5 a side football which was held at Powerleague Croydon.

Sadly no teams through to the Area event this year.

SOUTHERN DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY & TUG OF WAR

Beddington Park adjacent to Sutton Sea Cadet unit (TS Puma) was the venue for the Southern District Cross Country and Tug-of-War in December.

A good performance by all secured a 3rd place in the senior boys event and a 2nd place in the Tug-of-War with other Southwark competitors also doing very well.

Please note the final parade for 2015 will be Friday 18 December before returning on Tuesday 5 January 2016.
