Ordinary Cadet Wood McCarthy receives his certificate aboard TS Royalist.

Royalist is 34 metres (111 ft 7 in) long,with a beam of 7.36 metres (24 ft 2 in).Her draught is 3.25 metres (10 ft 8 in).The ship's hull is of high tensile steel, with her superstructure of GRP . She will be rigged as a brig with a sail area of 536 square metres (641 sq yd). She has a crew of eight, plus up to 24 Cadets ad 2 adult trainees. Twelve passengers can also be carried.

November continued with a week offshore for one lucky cadet.

Swapping Westminster City School for a week aboard sail training ship TS Royalist provided a fantastic experience shared with 23 other cadets from all parts of the UK.

After a busy weekend 4 cadets set off for a weeks training at HMS Raleigh.

HMS Raleigh is the modern-day basic training facility of the Royal Navy at Torpoint, Cornwall. It is spread over several square miles, and has damage control simulators and fire-fighting training facilities, as well as a permanently moored training ship, the former HMS Brecon. Its principal function is the delivery of both New Entry Training & Basic Training.

You too can experience life with the Royal Navy, call in on any Tuesday or Friday evening to visit and/or join.

Southwark Sea Cadet unit supported the Royal British Legion (Southwark) parade forming up in Braganza Street and marching to Kennington Park for the service.

As always Southwark cadets were out in force supporting this prestigious annual event in the City of London.

Four cadets in the Sea Cadet Marching Platoon, 5 Junior Sea Cadets on the Float and Able Cadet Harry Tutt as one of two Drum Majors leading the combined Sea Cadet Band.

A wet day, but all good fun.
