The last weekend in May saw us at SCTC Weymouth for a unit boating weekend. The weather was glorious and cadets gained qualifications in RYA power levels 1 & 2 and YSS Stage 1 sailing. Those cadets not out on the water achieved the NICAS Level 1 - Foundation Climber award on the climbing wall at the training centre.
Saturday was topped off by a walk to the beach and a unit game of volley ball on the sand. Looking forward to the next weekend in September.
After winning the district football comp back in December 2018, our senior boys were in action last Saturday representing the Somerset & Dorset district at the SW area competition.
The boys played well and came in a splendid 3rd overall. BZ guys.
The team comprised of both sea and RM cadets. Great team effort from TS Roebuck.
Taunton Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets are recruiting adult volunteers for both sections.
Experience is not necessary but a sense of humour and a commitment to our fabulous young people is essential.

Taunton Sea and Royal Marines cadets are holding a reunion / party night on Sat October 6th 2018 at The Lawns in Taunton.
Everyone past and present who has supported or been part of the unit is very welcome to attend.
We have a live band, buffet and raffle and we would love to see everyone there.

On Sat 4th August we took delivery of our new RS Zest sailing dinghy.
The Zest was purchsed by the unit with funds raised by the cadets and will hopefully be the start of our sailing activities at Cheddar Reservoir.
