Torfaen has taken delivery of two new RS Quest's. These brand new boats replace the aging Boson class dinghy and Torfaen becomes one of only a small handful of units to house them.
Look forward to them on the water this session.

Torfaen recently hosted South Wales Area Officer for their Bi annual Royal Naval Parade inspection. Our Royal Marines Cadets provided the Guard of Honour while the rest of the ships company took part in various displays showcasing the best of the unit.
With the start of 2017 came another change of command. CPO Morgan has spent down as OiC of Torfaen in order to prepare for the birth of her second daughter. She will remain in the unit and will return to us after taking some maternity leave. CPO Morgan is succeeded by CPO Rebecca Anderson former cadet and member of staff of Torfaen before taking a position as course supervisor at HMS Excellent. She returned to South Wales and took command to Newport Sea Cadets before finding her way back home to Torfaen. We wish her all the best for her new command.
For 2016's unit trip members of the unit spent a long weekend in London City Centre. As well as touring the main sights they visited Sea Cadet HQ, The Imperial War Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum, HMS Belfast and took a boat trip down the Thames to the Royal Naval Museum Greenwich before heading back to South Wales for a well deserved rest.
Our new Royal Marines Cadets recently enjoyed their first taste of life in the field when they took part in Exercise Crystal Dragon in West Wales. Luckily we had booked the good weather for them, check out the photos of what they got up to on our Facebook Page.
