Great day at Netley Sailing Club for our Cadets competing in a fleet of 47 boats helmed or crewed by 65 under 18 sailors.
Great practice for District sailing competition on Sunday even if everyone was worn out at the end of the day.
Amazing results out of 43 entries in the main fleet some of whom are very keen sailers.
16th December 2015 - It is with immense pride and grateful thanks to all past and present Cadets, Adult Volunteers, Parents and Supporters that we can confirm that today it was announced that Warsash Sea Cadet Unit have won the Canada Trophy as the Best Sea Cadet Unit in the country for 2015.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have supported the unit since it was formed in 2008; including both units and individuals from Wessex District, Southern Area and Nationally.
We remain humbled by the recognition of this top award and will strive to continue to provide the best possible experience for all involved with TS Tormentor.
Then on the 22nd March 2016 we were awarded the Canada Trophy by Second Sea Lord Vice Admiral Woodcock OBE, Flag Officer Sea Training Rear Admiral Clink OBE, Canadian Defence Attache Captain AuCoin and MSSC CEO Mr Martin Coles.

STEPHENSON TROPHY
Warsash Sea Cadet Unit is the TOP unit in Southern Area for 2015 and is Southern Area’s nomination for the National Canada Trophy – the best unit in the country. The Canada Trophy Award winner is announced early in 2016, but we now know that we are one of the top 6 units in the country!!
LEDGER AWARD
Awarded to Warsash Sea Cadet Unit Management Committee ‘for significant improvement or contribution from a UMC’.
DRAKE’S DRUM
Warsash Sea Cadet Unit is Southern Area’s nomination for this national award that is ‘for being highly commended for achievement in Seamanship’.
COMMANDER BROWN AWARD
Petty Officer Cadet Francesca Thurgood is Southern Area’s nomination for this national award that reflects her Sea Cadet Sail Training activities and her aspiration to make a career at sea.
Warsash Cadets were again unleashed on Weymouth with loads of activities such as sailing, mountain biking, Marine engineering, catering and even scavenger hunting!
A huge BZ to our very own LC Jones for achieving a silver medal at the National Paddlesport Regatta with an amazing time of 52 seconds!! A great achievement for Southern Area, Wessex District and of course T.S. Tormentor. Well done Jones!
