In August the unit packed up and went on the annual camp to SCTC Weymouth. The seniors completed courses in Sailing, Power and for the first year Windsurfing, we had 2 officers from the area come and help with instruction of power and windsurfing. 12 juniors also went on camp having 2 days on the water completing their competent crew badge, they also had a chance to go in the power boat and a ride on the rib. Other activities that the juniors done were crabbing, ropework and a day at the sea life centre. The week was very successful and the unit would like to Thank You S/Lt Elliott and S/Lt Sanders for helping.

Weston-s-Mare had Armed Forces Day early to incorporate the Royal Marines freedom of the town and Weston Flying High. The RAF aerobatic team and Red Arrows also on the line up. The whole of the unit were in attendance with displays from the band, Junior section completed a mini gun run and the seniors displays were club & cutlass and continuity drill. 

Royal Marines Cadets from Weston-super-Mare and Bridgewater units were part of the celebrations of Taunton's 40 Commando Royal Marines, receiving the freedom of Weston-s-Mare on Saturday 21st June. They were joined by local Mayor Rosslyn Willis who presented the freedom of Weston Honour.

The unit hosted the Air Cadets Wing Parade, 500 air cadets came for the parade, the unit put on a small buffett for the cadets to keep their energy up. Lady Gass The Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset was in attendance to take the salute, there was also some presentations for gliding scholarships and financial contributions towards some cadets attending their international exchange. To see the unit that full was quite amazing.

April seen some great weather which meant a great start to the boating season, so we got the boats down to the pond and started the season in style.
