Adam Clark and Charlotte Brass both 15, and Emily Burston, 16, were required to demonstrate a variety of skills by completing the Compulsory Training Programme, and successfully passing the Area Examinations Board which sees them progress from an Able Cadet to a Leading Cadet.
These new Leading Cadets completed modules on a variety of subjects including squad and rifle drill, cadet leadership, teaching and training younger cadets, as well as fire drill and prevention.
Officer in Charge, Jane Fox said “These Leading Cadets are committed to Whitley Bay Sea Cadets and epitomise everything the Sea Cadets represent, which is respect, loyalty, self-discipline, commitment, honesty and integrity. They have all worked really hard to pass their assessments and exams – skills and attributes which stay with them for life. I am proud of each of them and I look forward to helping them progress”.
Training Officer Kevin Fox who is responsible for organising the cadets training, said “I am thrilled we have three new Leading Cadets at Whitley Bay. The assessments and exams are a really important part of a cadets career, and enables them to achieve both in and outside of the Sea Cadets, and this is yet another great example of how the Sea Cadets can benefit young people and make the difference to our cadets future academic aspirations and employment prospects".
Congratulations to you all.
