At an investiture ceremony held at the Cadet Training Centre in Nottingham on Monday 29 November, Worksop Sea Cadet, Leading Cadet Henry, was appointed as the Lord Lieutenant's Sea Cadet for Nottinghamshire for 2021/22 by the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghmshire, Sir John Peace.
The 16 year old's achievement is part of a national programme where each year, the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, along with other counties up and down the country, appoints several young people drawn from each of the Cadet Forces (Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps) to serve as a Lord Lieutenant's Cadet.
These cadets are selected and appointed based on their outreach and participation within their respspective organisation, which is seen as one of the highest achievements in the Cadet Forces. LC Henry's role as Lord Lieutenant's Cadet will see him act as an aide and representative of the Sea Cadets and provide an essential link between the armed forces and the local community. He will be given the opportunity to assist the Lord Lieutenant at civic and military occasions and, where possible, Royal visits.
