On Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March a group of 23 young people from across the UK came together to take part in a Social Action project to get stuck in painting a unit’s main deck, canoeing, sailing and mountain biking, to encourage them to volunteer at Sea Cadets!
The young people, aged 16 - 18, who have all completed the National Citizen Service travelled from across the country to Birmingham Vernon’s Unit to spend the weekend painting the decks, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing and mountain biking, whilst learning key life skills like leadership, citizenship, team work and communication.
One of the young people on the project told us "It was absolutely brilliant!”.
