SEA CADETS LAUNCH NEW FLAGSHIP TODAY!

19/12/2014

Today 12 very lucky Sea Cadets from across the country are at the launch ceremony of our new flagship in Spain! They are joined by the commanding officer of the new flagship, Lt (SCC) Angie Morris RNR, and Captain Sea Cadets, Captain Jonathan Holloway RN.

Captain Jonathan Holloway RN, Captain Sea Cadets, says “This is a monumental occasion for us and a once in a lifetime opportunity for Sea Cadets to see first-hand and experience the launch of their brand new ship! We look forward to next year to the commissioning of the new ship when Sea Cadets will finally have the chance to sail the new ship on an offshore voyage.”

The new ship also called TS Royalist will be ready for the start of the sailing season in 2015 to take thousands of cadets on an offshore voyage they will never forget!

NEW TS ROYALIST FLAGSHIP TO LAUNCH THIS WEEK

NEW TS ROYALIST FLAGSHIP TO LAUNCH THIS WEEK

Christmas is coming early for Sea Cadets, as we are launching our brand new flagship in Spain on Friday 19 December. The ceremony will take place at the Astilleros Gondan Shipyard, where she is being built.

The new 32 metre brig, named TS Royalist to honour our previous flagship, will be ready for the 2015 sailing season, and will offer greater use of space, with better all-round sailing ability and performance. We hope she will continue the TS Royalist legacy and continue to give young people offshore adventures for another 40 years.
