New Signage for T.S Broadsword’s Minibus

A huge ‘Thank you’ to Mr Ron Hale, chairman of the Aylesbury Units Parents and Supporters association for fronting the money for the signage on our minibus.

Ron felt it was very important that people know who we are and this will help make us be known and advertise who we are throughout the county. The minibus is driven around the country throughout the year as we attend numerous events and with Armed Forces Day being held in Aylesbury in June this year it was important to get the signage sorted to raise our profile.

On behalf of the Unit, thank you for arranging this, we think it looks great!

March 2017, Adventure Leaders Course - Middlehill

Over the weekend of 24th to 26th March, Sgt Cooper and PO Cox joined with other instructors from across the country at Middlehill for the first of 2 weekends training to be Adventure leaders.  The weekend involved map and reading and lots of walking in the lovely surroundings. Both instructors really enjoyed the course and will be back to Middlehill very soon for the second part.

Middlehill which is set in 22 acres of woodland, is at the centre of the Southern area’s sea cadets adventure training activities with numerous courses on offer from Mountain biking to Campcraft to Archery and more.  For further details on what is on offer, please speak to the Training officer in your unit.

March 2017, Area Drill & Piping competition –...

On Sunday 19th March, 3 of our Royal Marine Cadets - Cpl Wilson, L/Cpl Bailey and MC2 Nixon - were invited by Milton Keynes RMCD to join them as part of a combined team entry to the Area Drill competition, once again held at RAF Halton.  All the cadets put in fantastic effort and the combined teamwork saw the cadets placed in 3rd place. The standard of Drill was very high throughout the competition and the cadets should be proud of what they achieved. A big thank you also goes to AC Lockley-Brown who supported Milton Keynes Sea Cadets with their un-armed drill squad.  ‘Bravo Zulu’ to all those involved.
