A huge 'Well done' to all the Cadets in Sherbourne's Continuity Squad and Able Cadet Cashmore (who stepped up to the plate to support Walsall Unit in the Unarmed Squad) Since January Cadets Slattery, Fox.K, Handley C, Rushton.R, Rushton.C, Newton.C, Ellis.H, Burley and Squad Commander Fox have given up their time and training to do little else but march. Despite setbacks, team changes, rainy nights and anything else that has been thrown their way, they square-bashed their way to the Area Competition at HMS Raleigh. Up to two hours before their slot, they were still practising. Ten minutes formation marching with no orders may not sound that hard, but you try it!
Not our year for the silverware this year and the team had their heads down after the awards. No need really though - the performance was excellent. The spectators clapping and cheering and relatives in tears after watching a truly memorable performance. Disco, a nights sleep and a Raleigh breakfast put that right!
All are up for another crack at it next year.
Well done guys and girls, hugely proud of you and enjoyed the roller coaster ride. Need also to mention in despatches, those who assisted including District Staff, Sherbourne's Command Team, Unit Management Team, families, supporters and the RN Gunnery Association.
